Therapeutic Respite Training Series

Thirty of our dedicated team members were actively engaged in a valuable two-day continuing education session offered by our community partner Bethesda Services. The Therapeutic Respite Training Series was offered through in-person sessions, as well as virtually to our Community Engagement Providers. Our team enjoyed sharpening their skills and expanding their knowledge about therapeutic respite to better serve our respite clients and community partners.

This training series aims to build capacity by providing meaningful and effective Therapeutic Respite Services to children and youth with Autism by enhancing the knowledge and skills of Ontario’s respite providers. The Therapeutic Respite Training Series includes foundational knowledge; strategies for respite preparation; proactive and reactive strategies; safety planning; and more, to enhance our team’s delivery of compassionate and effective therapeutic respite supports for children and youth with Autism.

Thanks to Bethesda Services, and to each of our Community Engagement Providers for investing time and energy into continuous learning opportunities!

"I enjoyed the training very much. It was excellent, the presenters and material were amazing. And it was great to network with people from other agencies! Thanks so much!"

“Thank you for giving us the opportunity to attend this conference! Although it would have been nice to do this in person, it was so nice that they had a virtual option. I’ve been to a lot of conferences and trainings over the years and this one was by far one of the most beneficial conferences I’ve attended! I learned so much and it was great to connect with so many others both from our organization and others!”
