In 2008, Amy founded and led Recreational Respite with a strong vision and an unwavering commitment to the disability community. Under her leadership, Recreational Respite became a national organization that pioneered the idea of recreation as respite to create social connection and a sense of self for those who had otherwise experienced barriers to activity and participation.
Now as a Registered Psychotherapist in private practice with an M.A Counselling Psychology and a B.A in Disability Studies, her educational, personal and professional experiences lend to the counselling support of grief and trauma for neurodiverse individuals, those with mental health struggles, senior adults and others who experience isolation and social disconnect, and their families.
