Empowering Others and Partnerships

Did you know that Recreational Respite has been offering hands-on training and workshops for staff in various not for profit community organizations around the world #Kuwait #Canada #Australia: https://recrespite.com/about-us/our-story/?

The skilled staff receiving the training ranges from personal support workers (PSW), respite workers, volunteers and family caregivers themselves. The focus is on the importance of recreation and leisure. Participation is critical. Therapeutic recreation offers goal driven programming with measurable outcomes for each participant. It focuses on individualized interests, needs, abilities and strengths of the client even when in group settings. The goal is to empower staff with as many tools as possibly for optimal programs for children, youth, teens, adults and older adults who have various special needs: developmental, intellectual, mental health, neurological damage, disease or chronic illness or memory impairment.

Funding is limited for these organizations. Parents of special needs children and adult children of aging and declining parents alike, struggle to use their funded dollars (if they have any) in the most efficient way. As a community organization that advocates strongly for this group there needs to be more collaboration in this direction.  We would love to work with you or an organization that you think could benefit from these efforts.
